Exports for May were up 34.4 percent compared to the same month in 2007, TIM chairman Oguz Satici told a press conference in the eastern city of Ardahan Sunday.
For the first five months of the year, Turkeys exports totaled $55.7 billion, with the may total being $12.2 billion, Satici said.
The five month tally was a 36.6 percent increase over the same period last year, he said.
Turkeys annualized exports were worth $120.6 billion, up 28.4 percent over the preceding 12 month term, the TIM chairman said.
Leading the way were industrial exports, which represented 89.05 percent of the total overseas sales and earned $10.93 billion in May, an increase of 34.6 percent compared to the same month last year.
