Though the cause of the blast, which took place early Monday morning in the eastern Turkish province of Agri has not been determined, an act of terrorism has not been ruled out, officials said.
However, Mehmet Cetin, the governor of Agri, said that so far no evidence of terrorism has been found and that officials were considering the possibility of a gas build-up as the cause of the blast.
According to an official cited by the Reuters news agency, work to repair the pipeline was underway and the flow of Iranian gas should resume within a few days.
