Galatasaray won an eight goal score fest against home side Sivas, with Arda Turan knocking in a hat trick, veteran striker Hakan Sukur coming of the bench to score in what will probably be one of his last matches in Cim Bom colours and Ayhan also finding the back of the net.
Sivasspor had taken an early lead, thanks to an own goal from Roberto Song in the 13th minute, with Mehmet Yildiz scoring in the 50th and Sezer a quarter of an hour later However, three goals were not going to be enough to stop a Galatasaray side that could almost taste the title.
The only side now with a chance of overhauling Galatasaray is Fenerbahce, which had to come from behind to defeat Genclerbirligi 3-2.
Fener will have a difficult task next weekend, needing to beat old nemesis Trabzonspor on the road and having to rely on ninth placed Genclerbirligi OFTAS, Galatasarays opponent next weekend, doing the right thing if it is to have any chance of retaining the title it has won over the past two seasons.
Having lost 1-2 to Kasimpasaspor on Sunday, Manisaspor sealed its own fate, and is set to join Kasimpasa and Rizespor in the depths of the Second Division next season.
